#1 Solar Buddy
The solar buddy is my number one go to when getting the kids sunscreen applied. When you have two kids that are constantly wiggling around, its important to get the sunscreen on and get it on fast. the solar buddy has a sponge and ball roller application that makes your favorite sunscreen go on easy and with no mess. Parent perk would be that you are not getting your hands and rings covered in sunscreen constantly as well.
#2 Beach umbrella with screw in base
Having May babies meant that whenever when we went out on the boat during their first couple months, they couldn’t have sunscreen applied yet, so we had to keep them in the shade, which this large umbrella certainly helped with. Whenever getting the umbrellas you always want to make sure it has a tilt head and a screw in base like the one in my link. Even as babies grow its always important to make sure to give them a shady break spot as they run all over the beach and need to cool down.
They are a few key things with this one, the one linked here has the perfect mix of what you need. Our kids are diggers by nature, they would literally dig to china if I didn’t stop them. So your going to need some good shovels. You also need a pail with a handle to make sure they can transport all the water their heart desires. And for your sanity make sure anything you get comes in a netted bag. this is perfect to be able to shove it all in the bag and dunk it in the water a few times to clean off any lingering sand.
#4) Lily Pad
The lily pad is another must have for boaters, I don’t suggest hauling this to the beach unless its by boat. since my kids are younger they do tend to play with ours along the beach but can also be used to float out a little further. As your kids get older it will give them the ability to jump off of it into the deeper water. This mat linked above is thick enough to hold adults and kids so you can also use it to relax.
#5) Porta Potty
A porta potty although coming in at number 5 is vital to your survival as you potty train your kids while boating. While out on your boat there wont be a bathroom in site and you can bet your toddler will have to go to the bathroom up to 100 times that day if you don’t have one available to them. we have this porta potty and place it in the cuddy cabin of the boat. For a while we had a smaller one for kids only, but sizing up to the bigger one helped when we had to go as well!
